Monica Monet first resonated soul at the tender age of ten, when she performed at the historical Mt. Zion Methodist Church in her home town.  She went on to independently pen her first album, So Sweet, produced by Reggie, AKA World Premier out of Meridian, MS in 1995.  The album, which showcased Monica Monet’s sultry vocals, sold more than 500 copies in its first week.

Moving to Atlanta in 1997, Monica Monet signed a recording contract with Beyond Entertainment. Under this management, she wrote and recorded her second album entitled Season’s. After the release of this album, she decided to take some time for self refection.  Monica Monet moved to Jacksonville, Florida.  There she furthered her promoted her literary skills, transitioning from song writing to chronicle the discoveries she made in her journey of life and music.

Following this literary sabbatical, Monica Monet’s musical soul experienced rebirth and the Nappy Halo platform emerged.  Monica Monet’s vocals were integrated with artists from a variety of musical
genres such as hip hop artist Carlos “Daddy Black” Spencer of the duo 95 South, gospel rapper T’Juan, Spoken Word artist The iGive, Spoken Word lyricist and author Knight Crawler and other artists.  Such collaborations demonstrate Monica Monet’s powerful range and ability to cross musical boundaries in the name of the art form that is closest to her heart: music.
